Everlasting Light

Tuck Everlasting was a musical with lots of color and magic! We used light to create the magical spring and also added in LED tape into the trees that were in the background and sides to help add that ethereal touch. When we were in “normal” areas like Winnie’s home, there were no colors and just very bland in feel. But when we were in the forest, colors were used to support the story.

For large dance numbers like “Join the Parade”, we made it like a carnival by using moving lights to spin and dance around the actors. At one point, the director wanted light to emanate from inside the case and we did put in a light inside, but an additional spotlight was used to draw attention to it (the actors really had to be sure to hit their mark!).

This production of Tuck Everlasting was performed at the Evergreen Playhouse in May, 2023.
