Antigone; A Greek Tragedy

The director for this Greek tragedy wanted to have dark and moody lighting both to start the show and to end it. I chose to convey the passage of time with the lights crossing over the stage from “East” to “West” - pictured here is the opening scene in the early morning sunlight.

The classic Greek tragedy came to life with a small cast and simple set. It was in the round with audience on four sides in an intimate space. The challenge with lighting was to limit the amount of spillover on the audience while still illuminating the action.

Antigone was performed at Wickstrom Theater in Centralia, WA in November, 2018
